A Big Trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium | Doctor’s Visit

Be sure and read the Prelude first.
So as I was saying, Lola had her regular two-year doctor’s appointment the morning we planned to head out to Monterey to visit the aquarium for her birthday. By the time we left the house, her temperature had dropped to around 99o and she was acting quite normal. Like I said, she is resilient.
Her appointment went pretty smoothly and besides her temperature, she checked out perfectly healthy. Her throat seemed a little red so they checked her for strep but it came back negative (it’s pretty cool how quickly they can run those labs on location these days). She was scheduled to get a Hepatitis shot (A or B, I really don’t recall) but that was postponed due to her slight fever. She is now free to eat just about anything - particularly nuts and seafood. And apparently there is a physical change that happens in toddlers that allows them to potty train.
The ability to hold their urge to go potty is something that develops and when that happens, potty training will be possible. Supposedly in girls that happens around 2-1/2 and in boys at age 3. You’ll find her measurements on the blog Welcome page.So the big question then was to go or not to go. The doctor did not seem overly concerned about her condition so we decided to go for it! And that’s when the adventure began.Postscript: I noticed that I’ve title a few things as “A Big This or That” lately and I guess that is due to a combination of a lack of creativity on my part and the fact that these days everything does seem “big.” It still amazes me that Lola is two years old. And each day she amazes us with some new talent or discovery. So please forgive the repetitious nature of the titles.
