This May Be More Accurate than I Initially Thought
This is one of those sources I frequently encountered that stated just enough to make you crazy (haha, get it?) wanting to know more. Like, why did the good doctor think the world was destined for insanity? Was it a medical or religious prognosis? What was to be done?!
The lament about women's fashions in the early twentieth century was also a frequent complaint. I know I have a source somewhere on my computer that goes into more detail about the link between the length of a woman's dress and the downfall of western civilization. I'll look around and get back to you on that.
