One of the longer-term projects I am working on at work is what I’ve tentatively been calling “Writing Our HSItory” as part of a somewhat-larger concept, our Pionaras/os. And, as has happened throughout my training as a historian, I have uncovered evidence of ideas articulated long ago that are are again in the contemporary conversation. Three of the more remarkable examples of this phenomenon can be found in the Chicanx rights movement, for the purposes of my research that existed in the late 1960s.

What I have started just recently to do, which is what has led me here, is to write up a summary of sorts of the more important articles/chapters/books that I read so that I can refer to them later and offer to my boarder DEI community at UC Davis. What I lacked was a public forum that forced me to think about usefulness, audience, and brevity.
