Snowshoeing

Lola got glasses. Oliver can't line up properly at school. The children are naughty (but still seem to believe in Santa Claus, go figure). Oliver and I like to watch Marvel movies together. Okay, that kinda catches us up from my last post. This is mainly to post some pictures from a fun time we had snowshoeing last Saturday (12/31). REI has kick-ass classes and this was "Snowshoeing for Families." It has been years since any of us have been in snow. Years. In fact, I'm not sure Oliver had ever been in snow and Lola's too old for me to remember any more.

But they loved, loved, loved it; way more than I expected. They spent hours rolling around in it. It started off a little sketchy as Lola had been on the verge of getting sick and she immediately began to act like she was exhausted. One of the instructors thought it was altitude sickness. But after a few minutes to gather herself and get her legs moving, she was on fire. You'll see in one of the pictures, one of the hills she charged up.Both kids did amazingly well in the snow and on the shoes. They were way more coordinated and agile than I expected. We all fell once or twice but the instructors were fantastic and the whole experience was an energizing way to end 2016.Here are some images with commentary:
