Lola's First Art Project
Lola's first art project is due tomorrow* and I have to say, I'm we're pretty pleased with what I we created. OK, I'm kinda being funny with the strikeouts there. It was definitely a group effort, as the assignment intended. In fact, besides the white spray painting, Lola did all of the coloring and she became an expert hot glue gunner (despite Julie's frequent teeth gnashing). The assignment started with a brown paper bag filled with a random assortment of junk creativity-inspiring miscellanea that we had to assemble into any configuration we liked. (I know, we should have taken a few "before" pictures.) We couldn't add anything to the pile, we didn't necessarily have to use everything, and we could use any method of adding coloring or attaching the parts together. And so this is what Julie and Lola came up with and Lola and I assembled:I would add that Lola's school is named Lighthouse. Pretty clever, huh?* Actually, it was due last Thursday I think but graduate students are a bit more loosey-goosey with due dates and that attitude extends to the children of grad students as well. What makes it even more authentically a grad student timeline is that we received the assignment a week before school started...at the end of August.
