Birthday Bay Area Weekend
Wow, what a weekend – Grandad’s birthday, a road trip to the Bay Area, Uncle Robert’s birthday, and Oliver now has two teeth. We planned a weekend road trip back to the Bay Area just to get away for a few days and to visit some old friends. As it turned out, Grandad’s (Julie’s Dad) birthday was Saturday and they also planned to spend the weekend visiting Aunt Wendy (Julie’s sister) in San Leandro before taking a week’s vacation in Capitola. So we decided to surprise Grandad and be there at Aunt Wendy’s house when they arrived Friday night and have a fun birthday dinner. But before we headed over to Aunt Wendy’s house we spent a few hours hanging out with Lola’s dear friend Laurel. I think by the time Lola started remembering all the good times they had together, it was time to go but she promised to stay in touch! You’ll see some pictures if you follow the picture link below.Dinner at the Zastawney’s (Aunt Wendy and Uncle John) was delightful and Lola always like to hang out with the family. She picked up a new member of our extended animal kin, Murdoch, and Aunt Wendy made some quick repairs to Pixie. Unbeknownst to us, Aunt Wendy - aka the Tooth Fairy - was also working her magic on Oliver - see below. We stayed at a hotel in Berkeley so Saturday morning we had breakfast at our favorite little French place called La Note. We spent a few hours at the Lawrence Hall of Science and that evening drove into the City to have dinner at our friend’s Jessica and Paul’s house.Sunday morning we were up bright and early and on the road. Besides being Charlie and Madonna’s birthday, Saturday was also Uncle Robert’s birthday so we headed up to Nana and Grandpa’s house for a birthday dinner. That afternoon, however, Julie made the discovery. Apparently Oliver has two teeth that are just below the surface of his gums in the bottom on front. We haven’t posted the details of his 4 month doctor’s visit yet (coming up next, promise) but let’s just say, this young man is way ahead on his growth curve. He is sitting up by himself pretty much and now, probably at half the age Lola was when she got her first teeth, he has two of his own.Check out some of the pictorial highlights here.More on Ollie Neil soon!
