You Go Girl!

A very dear Great Uncle whom Lola respects very much won’t be as easily impressed but here is a second recent endorsement of our preferred candidate:http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/25/opinion/25fri1.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&ref=opinionIn case you’re wondering, Lola is supporting Hillary Clinton’s nomination for the Democratic Party’s candidate for President of the United States. She has the experience, passion, and intelligence the U.S. desperately needs right now.Lola and I have debated our choice for the past several weeks as I was inclined to take a more practical stand and support Mr. Obama. Lola had to grant me that he seemed to have more charisma which is a character trait of first importance for the POTUS.
But charisma can often be mistaken for flash and fashion and after listening to a few speeches and debates, my candidate of choice seemed to lack substance, experience, and a clear vision. You should be immediately suspicious of anyone that says they are going to change the way the world operates. It’s an admirable goal (if you think change is the answer to your problems) but beyond the reach of any one individual. We’ve also had some spirited discussions about whether it was more likely that the U.S. would elect its first black male or white female President. Being a history major I thought I had the upper hand on this point but Lola expressed her disappointment that I would support a candidate based on who I thought the U.S. was less prejudice against rather than who was more qualified. No matter who you support, Lola urges you to vote in the upcoming election!HILLARY in ’08!
